  1. They are - one can set different angles, etc, however, I'm yet to find one useful application, except for planning things for a specific height. When I was doing some Kumiko I had the need for such plane, however, it has been a while since I last work on these projects. I will post later some more photos of this plane - as I've mentioned, it was a spur of the moment purchase. Best, Riccardo964
  2. Quite odd, innit? My biggest issue with "it" is that it's very hard to 'grip' it, one almost can't use their hands to hold it (with the black parts), I had to remove it. The only 'advantage' of this is that it's very very lightweight (after all, it's made of aluminium). Best, Riccardo964
  3. and ah, those 2mm will make a considerable difference in sound response!
  4. I was curious after reading this at The Strad Magazine: "Tracing the development of violin f-hole design through peeling an orange" (from 28/Apr/2015): https://www.thestrad.com/tracing-the-development-of-violin-f-hole-design-through-peeling-an-orange/5652.article And then I decided to do it: Interesting, isn't it? Well, that's today's post. Cheerios, Riccardo964
  5. That's ok, indeed you're right, I was referring to the other dovetails on the 'main' piece. All in all, those are the kind of decisions that I like to make, on the sea of decisions to be made in life Cheers Riccardo964
  6. what about MaestroNet > The Pegbox ? Have you checked all that KNOWLEDGE ?? that SAPIENZA ?? wish you the best of luck!
  7. yes, it does - I know it would look odd to put the other way around then the drawers are open, however, given that they are mostly closed, what I as a user would like to see would be the 'proper' dovetail showing - I guess it's a question of preference, really - it was a remarkable work there. Best, Riccardo964
  8. I guess I could have done this beauty here: Cool! And beautiful, however, the upper dovetails seem quite odd to me, I'd put on the other direction. Cheerios, Riccardo964
  9. curate your cycloid
  10. I took some time to download all files (all 360) - good resource, thanks for sharing! Cheerios, Riccardo964
  11. I see your point - indeed, without glue (which I added) I might end up with the front on my hand, however, it's because of this: I don't like the appearance of the other way - I have done it, and disliked it. What I also dislike are knife marks on the wood, I can't even watch it: I might add a purfling there, but on the front, for aesthetic reasons Cheerios, Riccardo964
