I just received the brochure to subscribe for the 2001-2002 season for the New York Philharmonic. I am posting in case anyone in the NY area wants to get a head start on tickets.

The new season features:

Maxim Vengerov - Khachaturian Violin Concerto

Gil Shaham - Brahms Violin Concerto

Midori - Glazunov Violin Concerto

Sarah Chang - Berg VIolin Concerto

Joshua Bell - Barber Violin Concerto

Anne-Sophie Mutter - Beethoven Violin Concerto

Yuri Bashmet - Sofia Gubaidulina VIola Concerto (NY premier)

Sorry to bore those of you not in the NY area.

thierryb,

I think they are only selling subscriptions right now. The performances are not even on the web site yet. The number listed to call is 212 875-5656. Give them a call and see when the single concert tickets will be available.

Is Anne-Sophie playing at Carnergie Hall on the dates you listed? I am asking because Sarah Chang in playing with the NY Phil on Nov 8 & 9.

Good luck getting the tickets early!

Roman,

The NY Philharmonic has multiple options for their performances. That includes same day tickets, student tickets and a reduced rate ticket buyers club. They even have a young subscriber's club for people 18 - 29 at $18 a ticket. I unfortunately are way out of that age bracket.

Good luck with your auditioning for school.
