Yes, I'm from Australia - Sydney-ish. I didn't study with Pikler but his was one of the names one heard fairly often. Even now on ABC radio I think some of his ABC recordings pop up from time to time. I've got an idea that the only recording I've ever heard of the Alfred Hill viola concerto was his. Who is your teacher by the way?

I don't know her, though I've heard the name. The other thing I remembered about Robert Pikler is that he played viola in the Sydney String Quartet in the late 60's - with Harry Curby and John Painter and -um- someone else. I think it reformed in the 70's with Nathan Waks playing cello and Alex Todicescu playing viola and I still can't remember the 2nd violinist.
