GeorgeH Posted November 11, 2025 Report Posted November 11, 2025 I found an unstamped silver-mounted bow with a violin. It is stamped with a "K" on the silver tipplate and "K" on the underslide. Is this familiar to anyone?
Brad Dorsey Posted November 11, 2025 Report Posted November 11, 2025 I think I remember seeing one like that somewhere.
nathan slobodkin Posted November 11, 2025 Report Posted November 11, 2025 Could just be for matching frog to stick. How about pictures of the bow? Quote

It could likely be manufacturing mark, but isn't the tip-plate one of the last pieces added during a bow's making? Here's the bow, for what it is worth. Maybe it's from K-Mart.
Jacobus Drainer Posted November 11, 2025 Report Posted November 11, 2025 Hill maker Arthur Kenneth Read?
Brad Dorsey Posted November 11, 2025 Report Posted November 11, 2025 The joint where the underslide and the heel plate meet indicates that this is not a Hill bow. Also, while Hill bows generally have letters matching the frog to the stick, the letter does not correspond to the maker’s name, and the letter on the stick does not appear on the head.
