Evans Posted August 18, 2025 Report Posted August 18, 2025 (edited) I would like to know how much this violin is worth? It is from Italy, 1917.02.19. The photo does not show who made it. Edited August 19, 2025 by Evans
duane88 Posted August 18, 2025 Report Posted August 18, 2025 edgework and outline look much like Dolling violins from the 1930's+/-. Can't answer your question with this quality of photographs. A blurry set of pics can hide many things.

Could you please help me check whether this violin is an old one or a replica from China? Thank you very much.
Blank face Posted August 20, 2025 Report Posted August 20, 2025 The name at the label seems to read "Vivaldi", who unlikely was the maker. I agree that it looks like some 1920/30s Markneukirchen with a very spurious label. The printing probably said "made in Germany", the last word scratched out and corrected to Italy by an unknown hand.
