stern Posted July 3, 2025 Report Posted July 3, 2025 Seems like every auction has Gadda violins (sometimes 2 or 3 in the same auction) and Debarbieri violins listed for sale. There must be about 10,000 violins labeled Gadda in the market!
martin swan Posted July 3, 2025 Report Posted July 3, 2025 I have a particular interest in de Barbieri and have seen very few at auction. Mario Gadda - yes these are very common, mainly trade violins that he certified as his own work. Gaetano Gadda - don't see many of those.
stern Posted July 4, 2025 Author Report Posted July 4, 2025 Martin what is your particular interest in DeBarbieri? There have been two in the last two T2 auctions- at least violins labeled as such.

For my sins I never look at T2 ... maybe I should start!
