Hi friends, I want to give the best to my clients so I'm looking for the best commercial pegdope that you know? I did a little research on here and Woodland Strings came up. Seems pretty good, comes in three grades. The problem is they don't ship to Sweden.

I've been using the original W.E Hill & Sons peg paste.   Easy to apply and has worked well.

Woodland Strings stuff is better unless the case candy gods shine down upon you and you happen to find a metal tube of Hill.

If you purchase on eBay they’ll forward it internationally. I just sent some to the UK today.

Hi, thank you. I'm buying the set. I also want to give a stick to my client as a gift because she's travelling a lot. Should I get #2? Pegs are well fitted.

It's a pity that Woodland is a US product, at the moment I try hard not to buy anything from the US. Sorry folks but you know why!

We do and I understand and appreciate the principled position.  This is however made by an individual, as far as I can tell, and not buying from him isn’t going to make a worthwhile political or economic point.  It’s good stuff and all I’ve been using since I received mine.

I'm sure woodland strings and other small, non-political businesses appreciate your self-righteousness. That'll show 'em!

Make sure the Woodland stuff is not a Tesla vehicle!

All the compliments for the Woodland product make me curious, but the shipping cost: I ship strings and small parts from EU to US by PostNL/USPS for about 5-7€ and from the US to EU they charge me 25-30€, knowing this is not the place to complain about it.

Yup, boycott US peg dope. That'll show em! ;)

The only object in my entire household that comes from the US (unless I missed something) is a Stanley 60 ½ block plane, and that is an inherited goodie, which I estimate was manufactured about 1950, so they are getting kind of hard to boycott:)

Woodland Strings compounds are soap based, whereas Hill is petroleum based. My compounds also come in a variety of formulas (FIRM, MEDIUM and SOFT) that are geared to the user's specific requirements and climate. The disc format and stick format are both the same product, just different packaging. Overall the demand for either format (disc or stick) is about the same, so I plan on making both formats available indefinitely.
