Daviolin Posted January 10 Report Posted January 10 I always have my jaw/mouth bent when playing the violin, it's noticeable every time someone takes a picture of me playing from my right side. I've researched about this topic, there's some threads on the web and many people complain about the same problem, but when I see a professional video of someone playing, the violinist almost always looks good with his face straight. I'm sure this must be something that famous violinists work on. For me it's not a problem of tension, I'm relaxed and I use my head weight only, without pressing. I think one thing that can help is using chinrest with a flatter cup. Any thoughts?
Rue Posted January 10 Report Posted January 10 If it doesn't bother you, or potentially cause physical problems, I wouldn't worry about it. Highly likely you're the only person who "sees" it! ...like the double chin I have when I play...
