Urban Luthier Posted September 5, 2024 Report Posted September 5, 2024 Dear Maestronet, As many are aware, Roger Hargrave has generously shared his numerous publications over the years through his website. It has been, and continues to be, a fantastic resource for the community. The Violin Society of America has kindly agreed to host Roger's digital archive in the future to ensure his publications are available to the community. In the mean time, Roger has given me permission to share with you a new digital edition of his chapters in the Biddulph del Gesu book. This new version fixes the transcription errors (found in the version on his site) and adds a new interactive experience. See my colophon on page 2 for more info. Roger owns the copyright, and as such, he is free to share. However, as with his other publications, please respect the licence agreement. Roger is retired from violin making, but is actively working on a series of novels based on the Violin Trade. If you haven't read Angel Eyes yet, it is a fantastic novel and can be purchased from Amazon. Enjoy, Chris Hargrave - del Gesu Working Methods (C) 2023 v2.01.pdf
Christian Pedersen Posted September 5, 2024 Report Posted September 5, 2024 Thank you for being involved in this and many thanks to Roger!!
Urban Luthier Posted September 6, 2024 Author Report Posted September 6, 2024 You are very welcome! I hope the community finds the new digital edition useful. If anyone finds a typo let me know. I found one but I wont tell where it is! (doesn't affect the text)
bick Posted September 7, 2024 Report Posted September 7, 2024 I will be giving this a read. Thank you very much!
A432 Posted September 9, 2024 Report Posted September 9, 2024 Am I the only one here whose pdf icon says "unavailable"?
Dr. Ludwig Posted September 9, 2024 Report Posted September 9, 2024 The document opens with Edge, Adobe and Chrome at least. Use 'open with' from the file explorer....assuming Windows.

Riccardo964 Posted September 10, 2024 Report Posted September 10, 2024 At first sight without further reading, I loved the typography and font choice. It got me hooked. Small typo (or on purpose?): Copyright info: (c) Roger Graham Hargrave 2033 Thank you for sharing, I shall read it through and through. If I may, there are six typos when referring the Kochański: it's written "Kochánski" (first two on page 5, then on page 32, 36, 50, and 51). Best, Riccardo964
Urban Luthier Posted September 10, 2024 Author Report Posted September 10, 2024 yes the main 2033 made me smile Kochánski (with the accent on the a) is how it is spelled in the book
