It appears old..ish,late 19th, I thought it may be from the Nurnberger shop.

Pity about the tip.Whalebone lapping and silver mounted.Silver screws in the underslide.I can see only 1 pin on adjuster.2 on backplate.

I was hoping someone may know or has seen one, thanks.

Sorry about the second shot,a bit out of focus.

Thumb projection looks to be worn slightly, but not filed as far as I can tell. 60g 728mm

What about Prager or Pfretzschner ? Full length metal liner to the pearl slide including the small heel plate is interesting.

Hi FC I'll search those bowmakers out since you say, I don't have experienced eyes like some of you guys. But yes I thought it was worth investigating.Lets see what Blank says.

Thanks for your input as usual:)

Thumb projection has been filed -- not worn. Carl Flesch, an influential pedagogue (taught Heinrich Szyring, among others) thought that manybthumb projections got in the way of getting the tnumb back far enough into the frog, triggering an epidemic of do-it-yourself modifiers with fingernail files. Like re-cut f-holes on fiddles, it's one of the first originality points I check on older bows.

Wood, FWIW, doesn't look like pernambucco (?)

I‘m not sure that the frog belongs and the wood isn’t Abeille?

@Gtone

Could you remove the frog from the stick, and post pictures of the frog underslide, the screw, and the mortice, please?

Also a picture of the back of the frog on the stick.

Thanks

Hi George

Yes, this looks now more like pernambuco, probably the frog is original.

This kind of frog would but it into the late 1920s earliest. The shape of the thumb projection could be original this way. You would have to look for a branded bow with this feature, short small heel  etc. The head looks like the common Tourte model from this region, not very specific for a particular maker.

Thanks Blank, would there have been many workshops using screws in the underslide?

That picture of a Nurnberger bow(posted above)was the closest I had seen yet but I'll keep looking.
