Dear community,

I have this violin which I would love to hear your thoughts about.

Also, could you please tell me what could be the white glue used for glueing the neck?

LOB 360

Many thanks!

I believe that you have an Austrian violin from early 19thC., something like a Pauli Linz, although I’m not sure about him. The neck beneath the fingerboard looks like it has been whittled away a bit, that some lobotomised DIYler could make it look like it was a baroque neck from a distance

Hi Jacob,

So inside mold and no through neck would that be right?

Completely for learning purposes, as I don't see many Austrian fiddles:  Are there not one but two presumably centering marks- black triangles instead of notches - on the top and bottom center of the bottom rib? Or do I really need new glasses? :)

Maybe the maker had the same problem and made two for that he could better find them.

... and it's still not exactly dead-center!  But better than I could do
