French bow stick?

Just looked through a box of old sticks I haven't touched in a while, and this pernambuco warrants looking at again.  Too bad it's without frog and adjuster, as the wood is very good.  Any thoughts if it is likely French origin?  I do like the cut of the head.

Agreed that the wood looks nice, and if it’s not too soft or too light it might be rewarding to look for a matching frog and adjuster. By the photos I can’t  tell if it is French or German. How long is the octagonal section, and are the sides of the head mortise straight or curved (or at least the right side curved)?
