Identification of German Violin maker

Ellery Gray

Recommended Posts

I have a violin labeled Heinr, Fitcheimer, Berlin 1894. I have unable to find any information about this maker in old German records. If the label is authentic, this violin is an excellent example of a very beautiful and well made violin. It is obviously not made by an amateur. What little information I have been able to piece together is that it may have been in the hands of a deceased Texas luthier and then given to a Mississippi luthier, who kept it in a closet for 17 years. If anyone can help me trace the labeled maker, I would appreciate the help.
