So wouldn’t it be enough that you show a confirmation by Tarisio that they are the copyright owner and the individual is making false claims? At least that’s also affecting their own business.

YouTube is a commercial company trying to get away with as less efforts as possible, similar to other social media channels. That’s quite annoying in many regards.

I have submitted that in my counterclaim yes, so we shall see what they say. But as I said unfortunately luck is not something I seem to have currently and YouTube have not been very helpful to me.

We shall have to see what happens.

Unfortunately to challenge it they also force you to disclose your full address and contact details to the claimant, which has been a massive issue for stalking and doxing in the US.

YouTube simply don't care about people, only money.

It’s always good to have a “bureau letterbox” address and a second/third email and phone number for such cases in the internet.

Good luck! Maybe the person will loose the interest after a while.

Presumably, this other person is trying to produce their own videos, on the same subject.

Do you think this is an attempt to remove you as competition, or just a malicious act, driven by boredom?

They seem to have a YouTube channel, but I don't think it's particularly active. At first I thought this was someone that had bought a violin that I showed in one of my videos and wanted it removed. So after the first strike I emailed them really politely and asked them why they had submitted that claim and told them that if it was the case that an instrument they had now bought was in the video I would be happy to delete it, but they did not respond.

Now having had a second strike I can only assume it is entirely malicious and I honestly don't know the motivation. The person filing the claim is not known to me.

Already they are rejecting my counterclaims. As I said a complete waste of time trying to deal with anyone I just give up.

With Amati, all bidding and final result history disappear at the end of the auction as many buyers wish to keep private the amount paid for purchases. They may intend to offer their items for sale down the line so videos of instruments previously offered at auction actually subverts that business.  Some folks may have cause to be upset at video postings which often reveal the hang tag with estimate when the auction house itself deletes all such information post auction.

One might presume that a channel uploading videos of items offered at auction not personally owned by the posting individual is simply providing a friendly public service. However, there would seem to be a contingent that believes otherwise as demonstrated in the action taken.

For sure...

Well everything is just AI monitored now so they just automatically reject my counter claims even when I answer the questions exactly as they state them so nothing that I can do. Only the big channels can bypass this because their followers cause YouTube trouble. Nothing a small fry like me can do.

The fact that some people might want to keep previous auction estimates a secret, they are not confidential nor would a video showing the "hang tag" infringe any IP rights, would it?

Shelbow, presumably there is an appeal process?  Again, if you would like a second pair of eyes or anything, please feel free to drop me a line.

It used to be the case that sales prices were published after the auctions, so they were a matter of public record. This applied to most of the big auctioneers, Sotheby’s etc.

I can understand why now the prices are taken down, but we do not know the reason for this YouTubers objection to Shelbow. It could be for something else, or no valid reason at all.

That all sounds a bit rubbish @Shelbow. Really sorry to hear that you are having these issues. Please feel free to continue going through our auctions. I enjoy it when you turn up - it is oddly reassuring.

I would also say that you have never been vicious in your videos about us, despite numerous opportunities, for which I am endlessly grateful.

Look after yourself and see you at the next one.

Thanks James, I appreciate the support.

I shall try to keep going and also create some different kinds of content for the future.

Yes, Shelbow, keep it up. Especially your short, hand-shot videos during the viewings are really informative. Also, thumbs up for James, I like the straightforward and simple process at Amati from the EU, both selling and buying (even though the Brexiteers have really done a number). Maybe there will be more valuation days on the continent again someday.
