Jere Wendelin
I'm currently seeling this in "Tori.fi" for 75€, for the reason it's antique. Should I fix it before selling, or does the fixing cost as much as it is worth? I only see the tip cracked, and it does not have hair. Also is it about 40 years old? Any info of the bow would be interesting. Edited March 13 by Jere Wendelin
Dwight Brown
Truly not worth anything . A tip plate and rehair would be way more than it's worth. Certainly not 75 Euros. DLB
Wood Butcher
It’s a child’s bow with a fibreglass stick, and plastic frog. Everything about these was done to make a bow as cheaply as possible. The only place this should be, is in a bin.
Brad Dorsey
Having rehaired a few of these, I know that they are not worth rehairing unless someone pays me to do it.
FiddleDoug
Maybe you got the price wrong. Should be more like 0.75€ or 7.5€ Looks like real garbage. Since it's a 3/4, it's not even worth using it as a tomato stake.
Mr. Bean
40 years old: in the violin trade almost an equivalent of "Brand New"

I also thought that it was made out of maple wood, because of the pattern and colour. It immediately made me think it could be rare. I was mislead to think it as antique/vintage, because most online sellers call it so. Also they are selling it about 40-150€.

People can ask any price they wish, but that is different to selling it. None will sell at €40, considering you could buy a new one for much less. An older one, which is all messed up, as shown in the photos, is worth nothing.

Since I have only encountered a small handful of "Golden Strad" bows in the course of handling thousands of bows in over 30 years, I think yours is rare. But it's still worthless junk. There must be tens of thousands floating around, if not more.
