tpariseau
is it real? Paid 3200 for this
Shelbow
Get your money back if you can. This is just a generic trade violin in a bad condition (back join). Probably worth $200 being optimistic.
Strad O Various Jr.
Genuine Vuillaumes were never stamped Vuillaume on the back, only the fakes, in that condition it really has no value, the repairs would cost more than its worth, you got swindled
Michael Szyper
Should be worth about -200$

For how much I'm not sure, but it would sell.

If this was claimed to be genuine, you would have a court case if they won’t refund your money.

Nick Allen
As much as I love dunking on people in these situations too, that violin will be a money pit. Looks like it could do with a reinforcement patch under the button/upper block platform.
Wood Butcher
It is hard to know which is worse, the violin, or the scroll photography.
uguntde
It is real in the sense that it is actually a violin . With the broken centre joint and potential crack on the back on top of the fake attribution it is worth minus whatever a violin maker charges you to fix it. It is certainly more cost effective to put it in the fire.
Barry J. Griffiths
I’d be interested to know where you bought this item. Was there any paperwork with the sale? Is the seller normally in the business of selling violins? Most importantly; do you know a good lawyer? This is not a contestable situation. You were taken advantage of by the seller.
