hobbyjob
I have to do some work on an old German Republic 1/2" cello, replace the bridge, strings, pegs and rehair. Never worked on one before. What are the thickness dimensions of the finished bridge, what are the heights for the strings, how many hairs for the bow, is it the same for a full cello, and are the peg sizes the same as a full cello? Thanks for any help you can provide.

nathan slobodkin
Get a copy of “Useful measurements for violin makers” by Henry Strobel. All will be revealed.
BassClef
Although this example is about 12x bigger than yours, you may be able to contact the maker to get some tips. Hopefully yours sounds 12x better too.
hobbyjob
Man, I hate getting old, can't even reread my own work now. I guess I should have written half size cello. Loved the bit of humour. I guess I should get Storobel's book. Thanks for responding guys (gals?).
