Giovanni Valentini
Hello all! Would anyone be so kind and have a look at this Georg I Klotz at Vichy Encheres for me? It obviously had woodworm issues, but I am finding it hard to judge the extent of it from the photos. E.g. are the marks in the bridge area from woodworm or some other damage? Many thanks in advance! Shelbow
It doesn't really look like the normal woodworm tracks to me. Perhaps some of the experts might be able to advise. https://www.interencheres.com/meubles-objets-art/vente-dinstruments-du-quatuor-302261/lot-31777834.html

Jeny Mahon
Not sure about the marks on the top, they kinda look like dings to me. But what's this on the back?
Wood Butcher
I don't think it's ever possible to tell the extent of woodworm damage, just by looking at the exterior, particularly on a restored instrument. Maybe the only way is a scan, or x-ray.

Michael Darnton
Kind of looks like someone had birdshot in the antiquing machine that day. Those don't look like worms to me, and don't follow the usual patterns, but I certainly could be wrong.
