Clear pictures of my first violin

Recommended Posts

I also want to thank you for the pics.  I am curious about what pattern you used for for inspiration.. the corners and outline remind me of something a bit stainer(ish). also I am curious about the finish.. base coat... was it gamboge or maybe propolis?  I have used both with similar coloring... though the lighting and such make it very difficult to tell in photograhs.

anyway ..good work and  keep going!

I used a mold that my instructor made following the Guarneri D'Egville, and I looked at pictures of that violin when I was working on the corners. I would not be so bold as to claim there's any resemblance.

The base coat was a copal varnish.
