Congratulations indeed to A K Alexander and to all who took part.

The Dictum Award is new this year as we wanted to encourage some new ideas, designs and experimentation.

There were 7 bridges in total who asked to be considered for this award.

Its all about celebrating craftsmanship and aesthetics in our art form.  I am not one of the judges but this bridge is beautifully done.. Well done ANDREJA JAMšEK.

Nice to note also that all Gold Awards this year were won by Women Luthiers.

Of course mine was not a criticism of the quality of the work of Andreja or the aesthetics of the bridge, only that in my personal opinion a "New Design" should be structurally improving, not pejorative. But wait, maybe the two cuts in the heart are meant to make the bridge break sooner, creating new work for luthiers. This could be considered a positive innovation, at least for the luthiers who will earn the money to replace it:D

I don't want to offend anyone, just make a little irony. Questioning the (unappealable) decisions of the competition juries is generally a must when possible errors are there for all to see:)

Davide always looking for new judges, get intouch if something you would be interested in or can support :)

If Davide volunteers to judge, I will too, because I think the two of us together would have a jolly good time! :)

I am flattered by the proposal (which with David would be a guaranteed fun:)) but flying overseas takes some time and is also quite expensive lately. But with flight, room and board for two, all paid for (my wife would not agree to stay at home ...) it would be worth thinking about.
