valley restorations
Hi, The Xanthorrea varnish I made seems to be quite light fast. I test my pigments and varnishes by putting a sample on my car dash in full sun for a day or two, of course I didn't do this with the instrument. I have found that truly fugitive colours fade within an hour or so.
Murray George Lawr..
Hi I have a lovely inlaid writing box. I carefully sanded with a very fine paper to remove years of wear. What should I use to seal the marquetry with? Please advise where I can source a varnish. yhx Murray (Dunedin)
MikeC
Nice looking box. A French polish with blond shellac might be good on something like that.

First, are you going to be using it in an exterior location, such as a reenactor's camp, or anywhere it could get beverages (such as beer or wine) spilled on it?
