Is this a real Oddone violin or copy?

Agree - this is neither a genuine Oddone nor a copy.

Pictures are too blurry anyway to say much. The purling and corners look about right,  but this alone doesn’t make it an Oddone.

To me, (amateur with very limited knowledge) the OP photos could even be of this same violin (no 71 and branded on lower rib) although hard to tell with the limited sample so a few more pics of better quality would be needed to check.

It most certainly IS the same violin. The back figure is like human fingerprints and the bare(?) spot on back looks identical. I have no idea if Tarisio attribution is correct or not but I wonder why OP didn't get back with answer to Jacobs question about the stamp.

Same repair on the lower treble side of the top.  It shows up much clearer in the auction photos than the Tarisio photo.

Could also just speak to Andreas Woywood and ask him.

I'm looking for a violin for my daughter, she actually tried another Oddone before but the owner doesn't want to sell his violin. I bought her another violin but it's not very good and I don't wanna make one more mistake again.

Then go to a reputable dealer in your part of the world and pay for an example with proper guarantees. Make sure it has an independent certificate from a respected source, make sure it has a full condition report, and make sure that your daughter and her teacher/s really like the sound.

Don't try to cut corners if you don't know what you are doing.

Sorry to be blunt but this is good advice which will save you money and pain in the long run.

So if you are looking for an Oddone you need to be sure it's genuine.

Secondly you need to be sure that it sounds good.

Many of these early 20th century makers are wildly inconsistent - some sound great, some sound like nails on a blackboard.

Go to a dealership that offers a full service, and make sure her teacher is on board. Try the violin extensively before you buy.
