MaryS
Hello! Me again, I've had this violin under my piano for quite some time. Since you all were so kind and very informative on my "Hopf" stamped violin, I figured I'd ask you guys about this piece too. I believe this to be a 7/8 violin based on the measurements, but it could be a large 3/4. It says "Johann George Kessler", "west Germany" on the inside. Unfortunately no serial or model numbers and no date. What can anyone tell me about this instrument? Is it worth fixing up or would it be better off as an example of what not to do (lol)? Thank you again! Pictures are attached.

Brad Dorsey
“West Germany” dates it to after World War 2 and before re-unification.

It would need new pegs and new strings to become at bare minimum.... playable. Do you think $100 would be fair? Or is that too much or too low? Thank you for your input. Mat Roop
Reasonable... although if I ran across it i would offer $50 maybe $75 ... and that is in Canadian $'s... Good luck!... Mat
