Boveda Humidity Packs

I'm trying them out in my mandolin and violin case. Anyone have any reviews? I noticed Quinn violins on the Boveda website and also Shar sells these. My new Calton mando case came with one which is how I discovered these. There has been alot of discussion here on case humidifiers but no mention of this product.

Yes they work pretty well. Search for a thread here on how to recharge them.

Thanks I found the info, guess I'm a little behind the times.

I opened the case and it is living up to it's claim, 50%. Since I have several instruments in cases which don't get opened very often these are going to be cheap insurance. A product that does what it claims with no fuss, no mess and affordable, that's impressive.

The Boveda packs will be viable option for some people. But in extreme climates (like where I live), they will quickly absorb (in the humid summer), or desorb (in the dry winter) all the moisture they are capable of dealing with, and will then become ineffective.

Regular replacement can be a workaround for this deficiency, depending on ones budget

Can't say for certain but if I replace them every two months, at $4.00 a pack that's $24.00 a year for each stored instrument. That works for my intended application and our climate. I do see your point.
