Saw this viola in the Museo di Violino in Cremona. Photos are difficult with the lighting and glass.

They had a whole section of mostly contemporary violas. A few cellos.

Thanks but I should have used the manual mode on my phone camera...I was in hog heaven in Cremona.

Oh, good, you're still with us.  When I saw the thread title, "MN's Own David Burgess in Museo di Violino", I was afraid they'd had you stuffed, and put you on display in a diorama, or something.

If memory serves, DB was one of the two Americani in the exhibit with David Gusset being the other.

If I remember correctly, it was in 1982 that I won, and Gusset in 1985, way back when he and I still had pigment in our hair.

It was a little weird. I got a phone call from Italy informing me that I had won, and requesting that I show up for the awards ceremony. The ceremony started in seven hours.

David Burgess, David Gusset, and Davide Sora, are you sure this wasn't the museum of guys named Dave (who make violas)?
