TARASCONI 1898 at Japanese version of eBay. (with a vow!!)

Recommended Posts

In Japan, Yahoo auction is  the most popular auction site. I will post the items I have an interest in (not mean I will bet), to know more about the violin and violin makers.

This is the first one.

Seller tells us it's Tarasconi 1898. I have no idea if it's authentic. Please make me wise.

Thanks.

Bow looks way too crude to be a Grand Adam...Not even close.

Yeah, that's another suspicious thing, supposedly expensive violin with very cheap bow.

Thanks.

The bow is also suspicious.

Both fake of course ...

Tarasconi must be one of the most distinctive makers - we have sold a couple. The model is unique as are his f-holes and the scrolls.

Martin is the expert opinion I was waiting on, honestly I don't see any reason to rule out better quality Chinese factory violin for the OP's fiddle.

To my poor eye, the differences of f holes are apparent and the scrolls of Tarasconi's are beautiful, but this one is not.

Thanks a lot.
