ID French Cello with german label

Recommended Posts

This is a generic Markneukirchen/Schönbach made cello from the early 20th century, made using the common building on the back construction method. "Französisches Cello" is a sort of fancy trademark, they used also labels like "Französische Violine", "Zigeunergeige", "Concertvioline" etc. etc., without that the instruments in question had anything more to do with the announced properties than a "Stradivarius faciebat" labelled one with Stradivari.
