Rue Posted March 26, 2021 Report Share Posted March 26, 2021 I have the two of them!!! Too cute. But...I have never used either the glue pot nor the mug warmer...so I am of no help. I expect it has it, but since it's not specified it probably reflects "recommended drinking temperature" which some sources have at 130-160 Fahrenheit, and my guess would be this thing hovers widely at the low end of the scale. The steaks ill be cooking with it not so much. I've got a spare digital thermometer with an alarm hanging around anyways should make it easy to not overheat. I hope they are still available because I am now finding a lot of my tools are getting to the end of their lives and I would hate to have to get used to another. Now I use a wax warmer with adjustable temperature. It has a smaller pot and heats up more quickly. And for the price of a new Hold-Heet, I can buy 6 of these. Urban Luthier Posted March 27, 2021 Report Share Posted March 27, 2021 To accelerate warming with the Lee valley pot mentioned above - I just use boiled water in the double boiler and let it cool for a few min before i put on the warming plate. I did not buy the warmer, however,so I cannot comment on that. I drilled a small hole in the center of the lid so a thermometer can be inserted. (yes, I actually use a thermometer! They automatically shut off if they run out of water and a recycling feature that returns the bath water to the pot so it doesn’t evaporate too fast.
