clover Posted March 24, 2021 Report Posted March 24, 2021 These dang contraptions are just gonna keep getting worse
Byrdbop Posted March 25, 2021 Report Posted March 25, 2021 I've actually made a prototype for a shoulder rest that does not attach to the violin and therefore supports the body of the violin whilst allowing easy and free movement. So much more comfortable and simple than any other device I've used. I'm not sure if something new like this would be financially viable to pursue. I'm assuming as soon as the you manufacture something like this a myriad of copies are produced in China and sold on Ebay etc.
Flat_the_3rd_n_7th Posted March 25, 2021 Report Posted March 25, 2021 I realize this is bumped up, but I still wonder--has anyone actually played a Viper, and how do you think it compares to a traditional violin--transfer of technique, etc, not electric sound. I have not, so I'm curious...
Spelman Posted March 26, 2021 Report Posted March 26, 2021 I've played a few Vipers and don't like them. I prefer to have a standard positioning of the fiddle. That paddle also hits some lady players in an umm...awkward manner...
