The Collin-Mézin on Goodwill is undoubtedly genuine, but I can't see the date, it's definitely post 1900 and it looks a bit manky. The bow photos are tiny but the brand looks good - however, the thumb projection is worn. So whichever way you cut it I think it's neither a bargain nor a lemon ...

The one at T2 is an active auction so I wouldn't want to pass comment, except to say that it seems to be in good general condition.

Not your case, I know, but it's a prevalent attitude in business.  :)

I wholeheartedly agree. I've often referred to my country as a nation of cheapskates. But we've been cautioned not to discuss such things here, so I will instead turn your attention to this clunker which sold last night for just about 500 bucks. (I know, I really ought to have better things to do) https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/108714921 Looks to my very untrained eye to be a Maggini copy that might have some potential if it weren't in such terrible shape.
