LuigiMyViolin
Hi, does anyone know about this KONRAD violin? I found this at an auction I'm trying to decide if it's worth getting and fixing up. Its unlabeled except for KONRAD imprinted below the neck. Wood Butcher
It depends on what you mean by fixed up. If that is putting on a bridge and strings, then it probably is. If it will involve a full set-up, new pegs, strings and doing something about the non ebony fingerboard, possibly will cost as much as it is worth, or more. The violin is just "the usual". With a bridge, new strings, chinrest, possibly new pegs, etc, how much would it be worth?

Worth to whom? To me, after the parts and labor investment, it would be worth about minus 500 bucks.

Although I've not seen this brand on the back before, it's a fairly basic instrument, and will not be worth much. If you are looking to buy at this level, you should expect that whatever you need to get repaired on the violin will likely cost as much as the violin is worth when finished. The repairs, set-up etc won't add much value to the instrument, it will just be useable. This doesn't mean it can't be an OK violin for you, but these things are not the type of instrument you will ever make any money on.
