bsharma8 Report post Posted October 10, 2020 Says Albert Schuster but Coat of Arms? Isn't that H.R.Pfretzschner?

Schuster isn't necessarily identical with Albert Schuster. Schuster (shoemaker) was and still is very common name. This crest here has nothing to do with the royal Saxony coat of arms used by HR Pfrezschner (which we discussed recently), but of course many makers of the period obviously tried to cause such a confusion. I think one could go so far as to say they are necessarily different, given that they have different names. Adolph Schuster was a good maker; Albert Schuster was a trade name. Strad O Various Jr. Report post Posted October 11, 2020 Don't know if its the lighting, but it looks rather similar to the fake pernambuco used on cheaper Chinese bows
