Jeff Krieger Report post Posted September 14, 2020 Are all cello endpin reamer tapers the same? I need to purchase one. Thanks.
Bodacious Cowboy Report post Posted September 14, 2020 Others may have had better luck than me, but based on my experience I'd suggest that you resist the temptation to try to save money by buying Chinese Ebay offerings.. 1:17 is standard taper. Agreed. I have a cello/bass reamer that I have had for years. If you don't do much cello/bass work, you might get a nice violin maker to let you use their reamer once or twice, but after that you really need your own. The Chinese ones on fleabay won't last, and if you have ever gotten the idea in your head that you can sharpen one, you can't. Well, you can, but it won't ever be right again. I think that they are all the same taper, or close.
