Is this violin interesting?

Recommended Posts

Probably not. This is supposedly from the Eleanor and Alice Schönfeld estate. Eleanor died years ago and Alice died in 2019 so this is probably not her best violin, but I’m wondering.

The scroll fluting is clear and I’m wondering if this is considered “all the way”?
The two large dowels in the neck button aren’t original, are they? The ribs appear flush with the corners? The f-holes look nice.

I would love thoughts from other eyes.

It has a stupid label that’s not worth mentioning.

It rather reminds me of what my English colleagues call “Caussin School”. The word “Interesting” should be forbidden or rationed.

"Caussin School" or "Caussin Shop" is exactly what came to mind. Not a bad one, but not nice enough to actually be a "Caussin".

I think the Cappa labelled ones were from the JTL shop
