l33tplaya Posted September 2, 2020 Report Posted September 2, 2020 Did I finally beat Rue to post this? https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/02/arts/music/five-minutes-classical-music-violin.html I really liked Eddie South' s piece (courtesy Mazz Smith); several people chose Lark Ascending, including Hilary Hahn, and Andre Rieu chose...Andre Rieu, the punk. And Bach's double... I wish they had asked more violinists, and fewer critics. Some pieces I haven't heard; I do wish they had asked Roman Kim for his selection...And they icluded a local favorite, Vijay Gupta. He was one of Nathaniel Ayer's advocates and teachers (The Soloist movie). https://guptaviolin.com/
