Sometimes a year is clearly to decipher, but very often it's only some crickle-crackle (like we say) which can mean anything like the monogram of a worker, of a shop or how many scrolls the individual carved this week. After delivering it to the wholesaler/Verleger it could be stored for some twenty years or longer till it was alligned to a white violin body, which was stored for another period till it was varnished, than set up another time later etc. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
