Kolitsch Shoulder Rest

I realize this doesn't fit the topic of this forum very well, but it was the closest I could find to ask about shoulder rests.

I am looking for Kolitsch shoulder rests (I bought one back in the 1960's that is starting to deteriorate). It wasn't my absolute favorite, but it was durable, easy to use, and didn't tend to fall off the instrument. I'd say it was my 2nd favorite, and I used it extensively because the ones I liked better tended to wear out and start falling off at inopportune moments, especially during any really vigorous performance (I did a lot of outdoor acoustic performances).

I ran into this older archived post:

Turns out that the lead was stale. Shar does not appear to carry the "K-brand" shoulder rest, which is not really surprising, since that post is from 22 years ago (yeah, REALLY stale). I was surprised to learn that I still had an account on this forum!

Question 1: Does anyone know of a source for this type of shoulder rest?

Question 2: If I could produce a similar rest (the patent expired decades ago), would there be any market for it? I'm thinking of getting one 3d-printed for my own use, with some minor modifications. If there was any demand for this, I would consider doing production quantities (assuming I could get the cost into a reasonable range).

I am also using an aging kolitsch shoulder rest for my violin playing. it is June 2021, and mine is also aging, I see a/ the listing on ebay yes for $50 plus SH. - and now that ebay  adds the tax .. it will be even more costly.  DEFINITELY I think that people are always searching for something else to try to make playing comfortable, and that there is nothing current that would be quite the same. YES I would consider the idea of manufacturing this design again and I bet it would sell well. It is easy enough to rubber band some bits of ( mattress or pillow) foam to customize it, and if the price range were $10- or less (maybe up to $15?) loads of people would give it a try.

I have always used the Kolisch shoulder rest and the one I have now has worn out. I'm in the process of trying to salvage it using Flex Seal, but my initial dip has left the surface rather uneven. I would certainly purchase another one if it were available. Every shoulder rest I have tried so far falls off the instrument way too easily. If anyone know if there are other rests comparable to the Kolisch I would like to hear about them.

Hello TN Birdy, I just saw your post (6/25/24).  Do you still have the Kolitsch shoulder pad?  If so how much do you want for it?  I have used one since 1966, and really like it.  I now have 2 violins that I play, but only one Kolitsch.  It would be much handier to have a second one.  Thank you!  --  Dean (Oregon)
