Help with this old violin

My first thought is that the case is a great deal older than the violin. The violin appears to be a pretty standard cheap trade instrument from maybe the 1950s or '60s. The case is likely from 1900 or so.

Yes the case seems to be a great deal older than the violin....even though the violin does smell internally very very old

If the bow came with it, and you're in Australia, it's post-1965.  Thing looks like a generic 1960's to 1980's "German" student fiddle to me.  How does it sound?  :)
