Fossil Ledges
Hello All, Sorry for the poor photos, I meant to get some decent ones and the day got away from me. Any thoughts on this cello shaped object on my bench? Measurements are: Body 71 cm., overall length 119, upper bout 32, lower bout 38, rib height 12.5. No label, 2 repair labels, 1891 and 1970. Many repairs. The belly and back only overhang the ribs by 1 to 1.5 mm. in most places.
FiddleDoug
Hard to tell from the quality of the pictures. Does it have a through block neck? I'm going to guess Mk/Sch instrument from mid 1800s.
Fossil Ledges
Yes, and that would be my guess also. Thank you! It looks narrow placed on the rack with more modern examples.
