Rue Posted March 5, 2020 Report Posted March 5, 2020 Covid19 is too new for a definitive biology to have been established - but it's a viral upper respiratory infection - like influenza. OK, that explains the violin business, but what do we do about the plague virus thingy?

I think if I can just keep moving fast enough it won't be able to catch me "Hey did you catch the flu?" " no, and I'm not going to let it catch me!" Actually, I've always had a chem suit fetish, so now I can really express who I am, I can finally bring my full body chem suit {with matching gas/bio filtration} out of the closet and wear it proudly without fear of reprisal from those who, just wouldn't understand my special kind of love .........

duane88 Posted March 5, 2020 Report Posted March 5, 2020 Oh good lord! As a Nurse (my former trade), I suggest that we all just avoid crowds, wash our hands, continue to wash our hands, and go forward. I am going to Japan at the end of the month. I will wash my hands, cover my coughs if I have them, sneeze into my sleeve, and return unharmed. The paranoia is the most concerning part. Why is Costco out of toilet paper and bottled water? Basic infection control protocols are our best defense. Wash your hands. Don't touch your face. Avoid large public gatherings and most of us will be just fine. I did have one phone call asking if they should wipe their violin down with alcohol to prevent the spread of the virus. I told them that I would not suggest it, but that I would be happy to fix the varnish after they had done so. So...stop with all of the panic and use common sense.

Blank face Posted March 5, 2020 Report Posted March 5, 2020 9 hours ago, David Burgess said: Since some people with the Corona virus have no symptoms, what are they doing where you live? Testing every person? How often? Every two weeks? What is it that you are recommending? It's obvious that the damage is both of a social and economical nature and dangerous for people being old or in a bad health condition for other reasons. A risk factor is clearly that you were afraid to visit your doctor for a long period due to a missing health insurance, you don't want to be a "socialist" having one, or some cowgirl/boy attitude like "this little fever won't kill me but make me stronger". It was also to 'splain why statistical infection or death rates aren't always comparable. Testing is only adequate for people being in intensive contact with infected persons or having symptoms to avoid spreading the virus unnecessarily, especially to persons being endangered in the way ascribed above. Otherwise I agree mostly with Duane88. I'm usually cleaning my violins with a mixture containing a part alcohol, so the virus is forced to hide inside.

Evan Smith Posted March 5, 2020 Report Posted March 5, 2020 This is just the final blow for those still eating their stores of food from y2k,, with their severe nutritional deficiencies,,, they'll just go nuts! Obviously just another plot from the globalist to depopulate the earth. The ones who grabbed all the toilet paper will be gone, and the rest of us will be left, looking around for a way to clean up the mess.
jezzupe Posted March 5, 2020 Report Posted March 5, 2020 All I know is I see this being turned into a political device. We have red team and blue team. Red team is "concerned" taking it "seriously" not trusting "media" 100% searching and compiling information, stocking up on food and supplies. whereas Blue team "thinks it's no big deal" seems to trust "media" and their suggestions, will simply cough into their sleeve and that everything will be ok, they are leary of any information that does not come from a "mainstream" source. Let alone all the accusation that are being thrown around by different countries. We are entering a period of time in history where knowing the "truth" ,whatever it is, it will become more and more difficult to determine "reality"

Yes "it" has been here for awhile, it seems to be driving a balkanization in the USA where we are starting to see regional re alignment, quite frankly there are pockets of red and blue throughout the states and many people "feel" they are living in an area that they do not "identify" with or belong. Many "red" Californians for example have given up any hope of political change and so instead of being "where they feel they do not belong" they are simply moving out of the state. It is "funny" to see a potential pandemic that kills either one be so devisive All I know is that this is,in time, going to severely damage the economy globally and potentially put the USA and China on a collision course depending on what China does. Understand, that if you live in the West, they have you by the "jock strap" right now. They, China have suffered through this, chronologically have been the first to deal with it, and as it moves into the West and the outbreak spreads here, we will be VERY reliant on them supplying us with "stuff" and now they are in a very good position to "pretend", or not, that "sorry" can't give you any of "that" right now....Again anyone who knows anything about pharma knows this is a nightmare about to unfold in the supply chain, one that will not be felt for a couple months, perhaps right when it will be needed the most. If someone was able to snap their fingers and make it all go away right now, there is already massive amounts of economic damage that has yet to "wave" over the global economy. Understand, nothing changed after 2008, just debt bandaids stuck on a "fake" global economy, prior to the Covid19 the economy was fragile I don't think anyone, red or blue is going to like the disruptions that may be coming let alone the death, just look at Italy right now, a country with a very high standard of living, and it, just like China is having to shut everything down for awhile, and I suspect the same is coming to us all, or many of us.
Rue Posted March 5, 2020 Report Posted March 5, 2020 Maybe we should consult Dean Koontz? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8075853/amp/Dean-Koontzs-1981-thriller-deadly-virus-Wuhan-bestseller.html

All I know is Wuhan does have a level 4 lab there, very close to the recently bulldozed wet market.
jezzupe Posted March 5, 2020 Report Posted March 5, 2020 As this post is about Italy and what is going on there with the virus, I do think it is worth "thinking" about some things as it relates to what is going on there related to the numbers. First I would say that in all this the testing and reporting is what is deriving these numbers, and in all that it should be taken into consideration that not all countries are created equally when it comes to testing and reporting, I am a firm believer that out of the many countries, Italy will be one of the most accurate at reporting. And in that vein I would say the confirmed case total as of right now 3858, with the recovered at 414 and a VERY alarming death rate of 148 as compared to the recovered Whereas looking at South Korea, a place I feel is doing very accurate reporting also has a much more "reasonable" amount of death rate. So I'm not sure what that means, but it is "interesting" in a not so good way. It has apparently already mutated into 2 different strains the S and L type, perhaps that has something to do with the high death rate in Italy? perhaps the numbers are wrong? perhaps it is because of an older population? Anyone have any guess's/information as to why the rate is so high in Italy?

Here's the BIG headline of the day: Bill Clinton explains that he had an affair with Monica Lewinsky while in office because it helped to 'manage my anxieties'. He said that when he met Lewinsky, the pressure of the job was too much and he thought, 'Here's something that will take your mind off it for a while'.
