Lol...yes. ^_^ We can all feel, be, do - whatever we want to feel  be, do.

That doesn't mean having a framework to work from isn't useful - and pragmatic - and, ultimately, comforting.

Here's a simulation in PS of what the area might look like if retouched with colored pencils, daub smudged, and sealed with a clear varnish.  Believe me, you don't want to just stain or dirty the area.   :)

I know the feeling he/she's having.  These days it's not as disheartening as compared to my younger days - I could go thirty years without mishaps, scratches, dings etc..  I learned with low brass instruments that cost a lot of money then, then that carried over to guitar.  So far, so good - then I got to violin making.  Long story short, the words oops and oh well are used regularly these days.
