Josef Klotz?

Hi I recently bought this violin, and I want to know if it’s a real Klotz or a copy, and an estimation of its price.

Label is all covered with varnish but it says Josef Klotz Mittenwald and that’s all I can read.

Also has another label that says Repaired by John A. Em... Dover N.H

I took the photos with my Canon dslr.

I'm afraid I can't say much about the violin other than it obviously wasn't made by Josef Klotz, but I can tell you that the name on the repair label is John A Emery.

It is a produckt of the late 19th C: Saxon cottage industry supplied to the american retail market by the Markneukirchen wholesalers

I've seen the same repair label in another violin.

I'm assuming it's a "Josef Klotz in Mittenwalde" label which is one of the most used prints from the Markneukirchen dealer's labelling sheets. It's full of misspelling and in no way similar to real labels which can be seen here http://www.geigenbaumuseum-mittenwald.de/index.php?id=145

Beside that the violin itself ticks all boxes of a Vogtland trade instrument but rather none of the Mittenwalds.

The price might depend of the actual condtion which is difficult to spot at the photos, and also from the location. Could vary from low hundreds to maybe very low 4 figure Euro in best condition

Depends on what type of repair work was done. I'd guess between $500-$1250.
