I have found Ebay pretty tough lately to find anything of quality to bid on i have done very well in the past.......anyone out there who has observed a similar experience? Conditions have deteriorated since 10 or more years ago, prices are up, weasels abound, and semi-clued buyers who can foul up a good auction have multiplied. Less astute or concerned sellers (estate sale, general antique, and "guitar store" types, mostly) still put misidentified obscure fiddles (usually in need of repairs) out at reasonable opening bids, but MN lurkers (I suspect) with fat wallets seem to show up quickly, and push the price towards retail.
