Nice - what's the date of the catalogue?

Don't suppose you wrote the Wikipedia page? :D

Nope. Anyone who uses Wikipedia as a primary source should not be trusted.

Wow! I am interested in how much you got both for! - - -I know...a gentleman wouldn't ask.  Don't answer lol

All I know is, my IXR was the best $1500 I ever spent.

Lovely violin. Interestingly, in all my travels I’ve never seen a EH Roth cello, though I’ve see many and many violins.

Oddly the celli sell for not much more than the violins, especially now considering the 19k violin at Tarisio.

Somehow, the appearance of both is somewhat atypical for the "standard" EH Roths I have seen in my local violin shop that is considerably well-known.

In what way ?

Overall, the appearances of both are quite stout, somewhat less dexterous or graceful as EH Roths I have seen, although all of those are factory fiddles.

I think my 1925 Roth has a much nicer table and overall look .but at the end of the day it’s a good violin for its Value.

The fact that an already expensive San Francisco dealership can puff up the price of one violin based on a single inexplicable auction result doesn't mean that another is worth the same.

Or that they will ever sell the one they have for $14k!

Likewise have you considered why this violin, which is in perfectly good condition, was sitting at Amati with the top removed?

I think you have a lot of work ahead of you before you can achieve anything like a regular retail price.

Fancy buying a new(ish) German violin with an American „certificate“, when Mr. Roth himself would be perfectly happy to certify it for a modest charge
