German bow

Recommended Posts

Could be or maybe a shop bow from a company like Framus ,their founder was a Wilfer and initially they sold violin family stuff before getting more into guitars. The Wilfers appears to be from Schonbach.

Agree. There were several Karl Wilfers in Schönbach, a Fred Wilfer was the founder of the Framus firm when I'm recalling it right. To say more about the OP bow it would be necessary to see more, but it looks more like a dealer or firm brand maybe with regards to an ancestor.

It looks IMO like a good Bubenreuth bow. A bow with thread lapping isn't supposed to be so heavy, a wire lapping could add some more weight, maybe 4-5 gr. if necessary.
