Picture Dictionary of fine antique stringed Instruments

Recommended Posts

Hello. Is anyone familiar with "Picture Dictionary of fine antique stringed Instruments" by Samuel Zhang? Has anyone seen it and can give an opinion? It looks like photos are not of a high quality I'm not sure which is its final purpose. Thanks.

Is this a taboo question? Maybe I shouldn't have asked? Nobody knows it? Nobody is interested in it?

LOL...well, if nobody is familiar with it...then nobody can answer your question...^_^

All I can see are expensive sets of the books available at various auctions...

These books are amazing regarding quality control. None at all. I have found the same violin photo in two different pages just changing the printing colors....  so maybe there aren't 1524 x4 violins pictured .... just 500 reproduced many times... but it is entertaining to have so many photos within your reach.

Hi. After my first post I purchased it. Well... it is... very heavy.

Now you need a Chinese black lacquerware mother-of-pearl inlaid coffee table to display the books on.

Here you have it. I hope it helps and that it won't violate copyright laws...

Just a I suspected, this published lifted images from orpheon.org. What country was this published in? It seems the “author” is the one who is violating copyrights.
