Question here :-\ 1- is this true? 2- if yes, does that mean it is terrible violin i shouldn't think of? Please tell us more about your circumstances. I will note that there is such a wide selection of student violins currently being offered that one should shop around a lot, and try a number of them in person. I have tried many changes to make it at least playable as a back-up instrument for outside performances to no avail. I keep it only as a keepsake that my grandfather gave me on a visit to Tokyo. He was one of the first Suzuki teachers. I was a brass major beginning a degree in composition. I think that one should consider something like a used Chinese Andreas Eastman, Snow, or maybe Samuel Eastman, Shen or Yamaha as a more basic starter..
