Recommended Posts

Can we a choose a different maker? $3MM probably puts you in the lower end of Strads. How about one of the a Peter Gs?

Hey! I know that T. Rex! (It's been displayed at the Natural History Museum at KU since it was found).

Legit--KU palentology professor David Burnham, with students, found the fossil and is selling it. I was glad to see her from time to time in the past year or so but I definitely understand why he's not going to keep this baby at home, maybe slap a glass tabletop on her or play occasional drunken games of Tyranosaur-pong like I would. What.

I wish I had seen any Stradivaris up close nearly as many times as I have strolled past that dino.

How does it sound? (asking for VdA)

That depends on if you bow it, or pluck it

Apparently this sale is very controversial among Paleontologists:

Ebay Sale Of Baby T. Rex Fossil Draws Backlash From Paleontologists

Yes, there had been a listing mentioning KU and Burnham's forthcoming research paper. Everyone was so upset that an institution of higher education was somehow involved in a for-profit venture. Which...well, whatever. It's now being sold by a third party. I'll miss the old girl. :(

It's mind blowing to think of dinosaurs living a couple of hundred million years ago, many millions of years before humans appeared, and doing that for a couple of hundred million years.   Heck, it's mind blowing to think of a million years.  Or 2.9 million bucks for that matter.
