Marcus Bretto
I wanted to start this topic with the hopes that it would become a useful resource for those who are looking to go in a particular direction with wood and ground coloration and are unsure of a place to start. Of particular interest to me is producing a wood color that leans on tan with grey hints. Not much yellow, and very little green. But, it would be nice to see everything that’s out there. If you have examples of any process you’d like to share, even if you didn’t like the result, it would be wonderful to have here in one place. Don Noon
First thing we'd need is a list of links to all of the other extensive threads there have been on this topic, so we don't miss anything or waste energy repeating it. I'm not ambitious enough to do it.
Michael_Molnar
Picking up with Don just said, I suggest that you search the extensive posts here on MN and post those links. Lots of good ideas can be found here.

Anthony Panke
This is a very interesting and relevant discussion for me as I am thinking about this a lot currently. Koen Padding’s book,“violin varnish „ talks about this matter a fair bit in one chapter. I might search for relevant information tomorrow if I have time.
