Using cochineal

Recommended Posts

Hi all
I have some cochineal powder from Kremer.

They wrote in the page that I can put it into the oil.
Do you think that grinding it with a glass muller into oil and then mixing that with oil varnish will work well?
Thank in advance

I have never used it, but I would think that mulling it directly into the varnish would be preferable to adding pigmented oil to a perfectly good varnish, thereby altering the oil:resin ratio

Ok Jackson. This sound reasonable.

I guess I will dilute a little bit with turpentine when grinding the powder into varnish ¿Ok?

Thanks

Ok Michael

Thanks
